Performing a Preventative Maintenance Inspection

Replace the Inlet Water Strainer

The inlet water strainer should be replaced at every PM visit; this is due to the degradation of the screen/sediment accumulation. It prevents any solid manner from passing from the  incoming water stream into the dispenser.

Symptoms of a clogged inlet water strainer include:

Inspect Metering Tips

Metering tips allot how much product can be drawn into the dispenser at once. The wrong metering tip can result in over/under dispensing of product.

See the chart of the next slide for an overview of which metering tip to us with each product.

Inspect Educators

To evaluate the condition of an educator, remove the cover of the dispenser and press the button to trigger the water stream. Inspect the stream of water that passes between the gap in the middle of the educator. If the stream is NOT clean, clear, and precise, then the educator needs to be replaced. Be sure to replace the inlet water strainer before testing the educators; a clogged inlet strainer can impact the performance of the educators.

Ensure that inner discharge tubes are attached to each educator.

Check Rack Mounting

Dish Sink Product Rack Mounting Specifications:

One gallon product jug racks require four screws (one for each hole provided), but only the top and bottom screws need to be anchored. Racks should be installed at least 4-6” above the floor and not directly under faucets or dilution centers. At the 3-compartment sink the product racks may be installed above the sink backsplash or under the sink depending upon customer preference.

Mop Sink Product Rack Mounting Specifications:

Product racks should be mounted in close proximity to the three button dilution center without mounting them directly under the diluted product discharge tubes, preventing unwanted drainage on the products being stored in the racks. Use the baseboard as a guide to height, or mount at least 4-6'' above the floor. If space directly around the dilution center offers no mounting options, look for a space where the racks can be mounted vertically (one over the other) or on a neighboring wall within 15’ of the dilution center. If there are no other options, a floor rack may need to be used.

Spray Bottle Racks:

Installed in accordance with the manager’s preferences. Ensure that he/she is happy with where they are located and check to make sure anchors were used in the mounting process.
