P&G- Arbys Open to Closed Loop Conversion & Preventative Maintenance Training

Introduction & Overview

Overview

On March 6th, 2017 P&G Professional will begin converting every Arby's location from Open Loop (OL) to Closed Loop (CL), as well as performing their 2017 PM visits. In addition to their ever mindful approach to keeping their stores clean, Arby's is keenly interested in controlling product usage, chemical costs and reducing waste.

A major customer, Arby's has chosen P&G for cleaning program over the past several years. This contract will be up for renewal in 2017. To position us for that, we need to implement this conversion with excellence.

Wok will begin on 3/6/17 and end my Mid-April 2017.

Open to Closed Loop Conversion and Preventative Maintenance at the Dish Sink

Installing Closed Loop at Dish Sink 1/2

•Locate Dawn Dish Soap and Sanitizer Chemical Containers

•Remove White Cap, Tube Stiffener, and Foot Valve from the Container.

•Do not cut tubing off at container as all the residual chemical will drain. Place in wash sink to drain while removing other end of tubing from dispenser.

  • Make a one inch cut on the product tubing at the angled barb fitting. This allows the tubing to release without breaking the angled barb fitting.

Installing Closed Loop at Dish Sink 2/2

  • Insert Red (Sanitizer) and Dark Blue (Dawn) throat Plugs. Push until snap in place.

•Install on Red (Sanitizer)  and Dark Blue (Dawn Detergent) Mating Caps – Do not over-tighten.

  • Run new tubing from product container to dispenser and install tube Flag stickers. (Disregard the bottle fill dispenser on right)

ULD (Ultra Lean Device) Inspection

•Locate the Dish Sink dispenser at 3 Compartment Sink. A ULD will only be found in the Stainless Steel dispenser (pictured to the right) and not the plastic Tytro dispensers.

Scenario #1

  • If you encounter in a Stainless Steel dispenser, leave the ULD installed like the picture to the right.

Scenario #2

  • If you encounter an Angled Barb fitting with olive metering tip and have a new metering tip, please replace. If not, leave original olive tip installed.

  • Replace metering tip for Dawn (Black Tip) with new tip from stock.
  • Replace metering tip for Sanitizer (Olive Tip) with new tip from stock.

PM at the Dish Sink 1/3

1. Ensure the dispenser is mounted over the wash basin. Be sure to document with a picture if it is placed elsewhere.

2. Replace the inlet water strainer. This should always be done at a PM visit, regardless of the condition of the strainer currently in-place.

4. Ensure dispenser buttons are functioning correctly and are able to lock. Both buttons should lock at the Compartment Sink dispenser.

5. Check to see that each eductor produces a clean water stream. If the water stream is fragmented then replace the eductor. An ideal water stream is pictured above.

PM at the Dish Sink 2/3

5. Check the condition of dispenser stickers and 1-800 sticker labels. Replace as necessary. (Reverse sticker configuration pictured above)

6. Replace all product tubing lines. Run them neatly and secure with zip ties when needed.

7. Check to ensure the inner discharge tube is present by squeezing over top of the outer discharge tube.

8. Test sanitizer and ensure it reads at 200 ppm. To do so:

  • Fill a small container with room temperature water dispensed from the Quat discharge tube.
  • Wait until all foam has dissipated.
  • Dip strip in solution for 10 seconds and remove. Make sure to not swirl; hold the strip still when submerged.
  • Compare color to reference panel.
