1. How to access the Multiservice Assistant

The Multiservice Assistant (hereafter MSA) is accessible via the Intranet portal of the Council of Europe in the Tools menu.

If you make frequent use of the Assistant, you can add it to your portal shortcuts, browser favourites or create a desktop shortcut.

2. Initial connection

The first time you use the MSA, you will be asked to authenticate yourself. Type in your e-mail address and click on the submit button to confirm this operation.

A message will arrive in your mailbox inviting you to validate your e-mail address. Once you have clicked on the link provided, Internet Explorer (the default browser) will open on the homepage of the MSA. This process enables a cookie to be stored in your web browser, thus allowing you to open the MSA without the need to authenticate yourself each time.

N.B. should you open the MSA with another browser; you may encounter problems due to cookie conflicts. You will need to proceed to clearing your browser caches and re-authenticate yourself.

The homepage

1. Getting started

A brief description of the MSA and how to search for services is available in the information tooltip.

The User Guide and contact information can be found in the Help menu.

2. Settings

To access your settings: profile and widgets (customise homepage) click on your e-mail address that appears at the top right of the MSA.

3. Your profile

The profile contains your personal details, MSA settings, as well as colleagues' email addresses whose visible requests you wish to consult. Some of this information is used to auto-complete forms.

Once connected to the MSA, it is recommended you complete your profile in order to define your settings and allow pertinent information to be automatically entered in future request forms. Once entered save your preferences by clicking on the paper plane icon in the toolbar.
