Evening Shift Providers (7 p.m. - 9 a.m.) 

  • Between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. you are the only provider in the Call9 Department.  
  • Clinical care specialists, nurses and nursing home staff are available at the nursing home. 
  • You always have a Call9 Administrator on  Call (AOC) to assist you clinically as well as an Engineer on Call (EOC) to assist with any technical difficulties with the Call9 platform. 
  • At 7 pm, or at the beginning of your shift, kindly assign yourself as the provider of record for all patients currently on the patient board.  These are your patients and you will care for them until you hand them off at change of shift. 

Day shift providers (9 a.m. - 7 p.m.)

  • Between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. please assign yourself to all patients seen since midnight unless the observation physician from that day already has placed their name on the chart.
  • Priority 1 (Red) patients will always remain on acute service as these patients will likely need frequent physician monitoring around the clock and tight handoff between acute providers.

  • Patients activated after midnight are cared for by The Acute Service.
  • If you so choose, you may also assign yourself to patients that have been seen by The Acute Service AFTER midnight.
  • If you sign up for a patient seen by The Acute Service after midnight please receive handoff from The Acute Service provider and let them know that you will be taking over.
