Release Industry certifications through DMDC

Training to assist with instruction on how to release industry information technology certifications to the Department of Defense. This is a mandatory requirement for all personnel occurring Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technology (IAT) positions for the DoD.

SECTION 1. DMDC Login

Enter your Personal Identification  Number, that is associated with your CAC, into the PIN entry field. Once your PIN is entered click OK

Once you have expanded the Correspondence/Documentation tab, locate the DoD Workforce Certification (DWC) option and select it.

It is imperative that you verify that you are in the DoD Workforce Certification (DWC) area. To verify, look at the screen and ensure you see DoD Workforce Certification (DWC).

If you do not see the "DoD Workforce Certification (DWC) on the screen, or are not in the correct area that reflects the DoD Workforce Certification (DWC), what needs to be done?

  • Go back to the previous step
  • Call the DMDC Support Center

Select Provider

There are Information Assurance Providers listed on the page under Authorize Certifications. CompTIA's Security + is the primary certification you will need to release to the government. Scroll down the list until you see the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). Once you have located this provider, click on their name.

  • Scroll down the list, locate Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)
  • Go back to DWC Home
  • Once you have located this provider, click on their name
  • Select all the providers on the list

2.5 Enter Data

All the data that is requested on this form should match the data that the certification holder has registered with the provider. Enter your data in the format provided on the form.

To authorize the release of your certification information to the DoD, you must check the box.
