Ammon, A Symbol of Christ

In this course we will look at the similarities in Ammon's life with Christ's Atonement.

Ammon's adventures at the waters of Sebus.

The Story of Ammon

The Story of Ammon

(Note to self: put a catchy version of the story of Ammon at the waters of Sebus here followed by the assignment)

Please read Alma chapter 17 as a prelude to this lesson.

A Symbol of Christ

Ammon at Sebus, a symbol of Christ's power

The story of Ammon is a story of the power of Christ's atonement. Like Ammon, Christ is a prince who chose to live the life of a servant. Like Ammon, Christ gathered his disciples and asked them to care for the flock while He "fought the bad guys". Like the fellow servants of Ammon, we can bring forth the spoils of the atonement of Jesus Christ to show the world what Jesus has done for us.  The spoils of the atonement are that He overcame physical and spiritual death.  But what other "spoils of the atonement" have you noticed in your life?

Glory to God on High

Consider the 2nd verse of the song Glory to God on High:

Jesus, our Lord and God

Bore sin's tremendous load.

Praise ye his name.

Tell what his arm has done,

What spoils from death he won.

Sing his great name alone:

Worthy the Lamb!
